Contributions Application Instructions

Ferring’s contributions program focuses on providing support in areas where our expertise and leadership will have the greatest impact. Ferring is committed to providing charitable donations and corporate sponsorships to improve the lives of patients and the health of the communities we serve, as well as, support the advancement of scientific research. Contributions are generally used for purposes other than healthcare professional education initiatives.

A Charitable Donation is defined as a request for monetary support that is provided for purely philanthropic reasons to support non-profit organizations, and for which Ferring does not receive a tangible benefit in return for its support.

A Corporate Sponsorship is defined as a request for monetary support that funds an organization or program, while at the same time providing Ferring a tangible benefit.

Ferring’s support may never be made with the intent to, directly or indirectly, implicitly or explicitly, influence recipi- ents to prescribe, purchase, recommend, sell or arrange for or recommend the prescribing, purchasing or sale of any Ferring product or as a reward for any such past behavior.


Ferring will consider contribution requests to support activities and initiatives consistent with Ferring’s mission and the below areas of interest.

  • Gastroenterology
  • Infertility
  • Women’s Health
  • Orthopedics
  • Urology
  • Endocrinology
  • Scientific research
  • Community giving

Organization Eligibility Requirements:

  • Headquartered in the U.S. and seeking support for U.S. programs and/or patients in the U.S.
  • Conduct research or support initiatives within Ferring’s areas of interest
  • Request support for a specific program or designated purpose
    • – Mission of a charitable organization
    • – Event raising awareness about a cause
    • – Advancement of scientific research

Charitable Donations ONLY

  • Classified as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization

Will NOT be considered

  • Research studies, including Clinical Trials and IITs
  • Funding for for-profit individuals or organizations (Charitable Donations ONLY)
  • Funding for non-U.S. based organizations
  • Debt reduction
  • Advertising journals, booklets
  • Political activities
  • Religious activities
  • Capital expenditures
  • Lavish expenditures or activities associated with alcohol, guns, etc.
  • Direct contributions to individuals or individual scholarships and travel support
  • Government education funds
  • Sponsorship of individual participation in a charity sporting event
  • Goodwill advertising (i.e. souvenir programs, commemorative publications and yearbooks)
  • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, gender, sexual orientation or national origin
  • Programs that have already occurred or previously declined by the Ferring Contributions Review Committee

Submitting a Request

General Information:

  • requests must be submitted at least 45 days before the start date of the event/program
  • requests are reviewed by the ferring contributions review committee (crc), a multidisciplinary committee which may include medical affairs, compliance, human resources and legal
  • While Ferring will give careful consideration to all eligible requests based on relevance to our guidelines, merit and available resources, not all requests can be approved
  • Previous funding is not an indicator of future support
  • Ferring may not support the request for the full amount
  • Medical Affairs is the only department that may engage in discussion with applicants; additional questions regarding an application must be directed to

The application process consists of the below requirements:

      1. Complete the electronic Contributions Application
        1. Applicant Information
          1. Name and Tax ID must match W-9
          2. Organization must be a non-profit in order to be eligible for a charitable donation
        2. Contact Information
        3. Activity Information
          1. Activity Type: Charitable Donation OR Corporate Sponsorship
          2. Area of Interest
          3. Purpose: Description of activity (i.e. program title, general mission of organization)
          4. Objectives for charitable donations OR Sponsorship Rights for corporate sponsorships
          5. Amount Requested: Note “See Attachment” if multiple funding levels are available, include listing
        4. Supporting Information
        5. Certification of Compliance
      2. Provide supporting documentation required
        1. Letter of Request on organization’s letterhead
          1. Specify that the request is for a charitable donation OR corporate sponsorship
          2. Specify the total amount of funding being requested from Ferring
          3. Include a summary of the program or organization’s mission, program date and venue (if applicable), reference to sponsorship levels (if applicable)
          4. Include a legal signature – It may be necessary for the organization to scan and submit the request letter for it to contain a legal signature
        2. Board of Directors Documentation
          1. List the organization’s Board of Directors, including titles and credentials of each member
        3. Program agenda/description/brochure along with listing of funding levels
        4. Completed W-9
        5. For non-profit organizations, Federal IRS Letter of Determination indicating 501(c)(3) tax-exemption status
      3. Email the completed application and supporting documentation to
      4. Applicants will receive a confirmation email notification within 30 days of submitting your completed application
        1. Requests for clarification, additional information or for modification will be sent via email to the contact listed in the application
      5. All eligible requests will be reviewed during the monthly CRC Review
      6. Applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision via email
      7. If approved, Ferring will forward the Letter of Agreement
      8. The organization must sign and return two (2) hard copies of the Letter of Agreement to the below address:

      9. Upon receipt of the signed Letter of Agreement, Ferring will issue payment
      10. Ferring will require the below documentation within 60 days following the conclusion of the term
        1. Charitable Donation: Acknowledgement Form
        2. Corporate Sponsorship: Outcomes summary and financial reconciliation of funds provided
