EUFLEXXA

EUFLEXXA™ is an ultra-high purity hyaluronic acid (HA) treatment for osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee. It is made through bioengineering* to be similar to the HA in healthy human synovial fluid that surrounds the knee joint. When injected into the knee joint, EUFLEXXA™ helps supplement the HA and restore the synovial fluid’s ability to cushion, lubricate, and protect the knee joint.

What sets EUFLEXXA™ apart from the other HA therapies on the market is its derivation. Earlier-generation HA therapies are derived from avian sources and have a higher potential to cause adverse reactions. Bioengineered* EUFLEXXA™ is not avian-derived, so it contains no avian proteins associated with other HA products. Its increased purity all but eliminates the risk of allergic reactions.

In a clinical study,1 patients experienced better tolerability and greater satisfaction with EUFLEXXA™ than with the leading HA therapy.

EUFLEXXA™ is administered as a series of 3 once-weekly injections that can provide weeks of effective pain relief and increased joint motion.

Please consult your physician prior to beginning any treatment regimen. Only your doctor can tell if you have OA of the knee. Together, you and your doctor can choose the treatments that are best for you.

Important Treatment Considerations
EUFLEXXA™ is contraindicated in patients who have a known hypersensitivity to hyaluronate preparations or who have knee joint infections or skin diseases in the area of the injection site.

In a randomized, double-blind, multicenter clinical trial,  the only adverse event reported with EUFLEXXA™ at an incidence greater than 5% was arthralgia (8.75%). Transient pain and swelling of the injected joint may occur after intra-articular injection with EUFLEXXA™.

The safety and effectiveness of EUFLEXXA™ in conjunction with other intra-articular injectables or into joints other than the knee have not been studied. The safety and effectiveness of treatment cycles of fewer than 3 injections or of repeated treatment cycles with EUFLEXXA™ have not been established. Strict aseptic technique must be followed to avoid joint infection.
